11/09/09 - 11/13/09

This Week we worked on our games, and learned that you can't have violent/educational video games. Personally I think more people would play educational games if they were actually fun. I myself would play educational games, if they were actually fun. Most educational games are lame and I hate them, for the simple fact that they aern't any fun.

Weekly Review

1. Our game topic is civics related, and having to deal with minigames, and a series of questions.
2. Our game has civics questions, that helps players learn all about there amendments.
3.Our game starts out with a basic menu that includes “Campaign” and “How to Play”. If you click “Campaign” it takes you to the first level, which has a civics related question on it. After you have successfully completed the question, you get a mini game! This mini game is almost completely random, but it meets its criteria by having civics in the game. For example one of the mini games says “use your second amendment right to get through this level”. You have to shoot the gun in order to get through the level, and if not you are stuck at the level until you pass it, or give up. In the event that you get a question wrong, you are taken to the “Game over” screen, and a “dun dun dun” plays. From this screen you can retry the game, and if you click the button it makes an evil laugh. If you win the game you get knowledge! Cause knowledge is power!
4.Many people do not know all of the amendments, which is really sad (myself included). So our game aims to change that by using the amendments to get through the game, but your learning at the same time! In order to survive through “Civic Duty” you must learn the amendments to help get through the game, or you will DIE! Just kidding, but you will not be able to advance in our game without learning some civics in the process.
5.It fits into the civics knowledge frame work, by using the amendments.
6.It teaches about the amendments, which if you obey them you are a good citizen.
